L’opera è frutto della ricerca personale dell’artista sul tema delle maschere, del folklore e del carnevale rapportato al mondo dell’infanzia e alla voglia curiosa di nuove avventure. «Ho deciso di ribaltare il concetto di esploratore occidentale che scopre civiltà sconosciute – commenta Ruggero Asnago – e ho rappresentato 3 personaggi mascherati che trovano un libro aperto e, interrogandosi sull’oggetto, scoprono una nuova finestra sul mondo, da dove scaturiscono forme e colori, immaginazione e fantasia. Le migliori compagne di vita».
L’intervento rientra nel progetto #IoSaròLettore di arte pubblica finanziato dall’avviso STHAR-LAB della Regione Puglia e affidato dal Comune di Putignano all’Associazione culturale Pigment Workroom.

The work is the result of the artist’s personal research on the theme of masks, folklore and carnival related to the world of childhood and the curious desire for new adventures. “I decided to overturn the concept of the Western explorer who discovers unknown civilizations,” comments Ruggero Asnago, “and I represented 3 masked characters who find an open book and, by questioning themselves about the object, discover a new window on the world, from where shapes and colors, imagination and fantasy spring forth. The best companions of life.”
The intervention is part of the #IoSaròLettore public art project funded by the Puglia Region’s STHAR-LAB notice and entrusted by the Municipality of Putignano to the cultural association Pigment Workroom.
