Classic Modernism è l’ultima iniziativa di Pigment Workroom realizzata assieme all’artista statunitense Beau Stanton, con il supporto del Consolato Generale U.S. di Napoli.
Prima fase del lavoro è stata quella di stampare una serigrafia in forma collettiva con i ragazzi del CAG, Centro di Aggregazione Giovanile del quartiere Paradiso di Brindisi – Servizio sociale istituito dal Comune di Brindisi – Assessorato alle Politiche Sociali (Ambito Br1 Brindisi – S. Vito dei Normanni), gestito dalle Cooperative Sociali “Amani” e “Solidarietà e Rinnovamento”.
In pochi minuti i giovani studenti hanno ritagliato degli stencil da applicare sui telai, in modo da stampare il primo livello colorato, a seguito sovrastampato con una grafica di Beau Stanton.
Gli stessi poster, una volta asciutti, saranno affissi in futuro per le strade del quartiere in un vero e proprio attacco di poster-art.
La notizia dell’arrivo di Beau Stanton ha portato all’organizzazione spontanea di una festa di quartiere, un block-party in stile hip-hop, un bel momento di scambio al cui centro sono poste le discipline artistiche urbane che animano ormai le periferie di tutto il mondo.

Classic Modernism is the latest Pigment Workroom initiative created together with the U.S. artist Beau Stanton, with the support of the U.S. Consulate General of Naples.
The first phase of the work was to print a screenprint in a collective form with the CAG boys, Youth Aggregation Center of the Paradiso district of Brindisi – Social service established by the Municipality of Brindisi – Department of Social Policies (Br1 Brindisi – S. Vito dei Normanni), managed by the Social Cooperatives “Amani” and “Solidarietà e Rinnovamento”.
In a few minutes the young students cut out the stencils that were applied on the frames, in order to print the first colored layer, subsequently overprinted with a graphic by Beau Stanton.
The same posters, once dry, will be posted in the future in the streets of the neighborhood in a real poster-art attack.
The news of the arrival of Beau Stanton led to the spontaneous organization of a hip-hop block-party, a nice moment of exchange for all the neighborhood, with all urban artistic disciplines represented.
